We are a group of like-minded individuals who re-create times past from 600 – 1600 AD as part of the greater group known as the Society for Creative Anachronism. The SCA (as it is more commonly known) is a world-wide phenomenon that brings people from all walks of life together to re-enact the Middle Ages “as they should have been”.

Radburne is situated in the Kingdom of Lochac which encompasses Australia and New Zealand. We are the western edge of the Barony of Rowany (Sydney) and to the North-west of the Barony of Politarchopolis (Canberra).

Our neighbours are the Shire of Dismal Fogs (Blue Mountains) and the Canton of Stowe-on-the-Wowld to the East, the Barony of Mordenvale (Newcastle) to the North-East, and the Shire of Bordescros (Albury) to the South.

Traditionally, a household is an unofficial group of people within the SCA with a common interest. These groups are often formed around a more specific time, culture or fighting style and members of the houshold can even be seperated from each other by great distances. Colleges, Cantons, Shires, Baronies and Kingdoms, on the other hand, are the official groups and these are based on geography.

Radburne is different to most households in the SCA. Radburne’s difference comes from having previously been a (Proposed) Shire. The Household of Radburne is an unofficial group based on common geography (proximity to Dubbo, NSW).

Our members are diverse and we invite all to attend our regular events where you can learn to fight, embroider, paint, or just discover something about history.
