{"id":1101,"date":"2022-04-07T14:30:16","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T04:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radburne.lochac.sca.org\/?page_id=1101"},"modified":"2026-03-20T16:52:19","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T06:52:19","slug":"conditions-of-combat","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/radburne.lochac.sca.org\/?page_id=1101","title":{"rendered":"Conditions of Combat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>All the tournaments will be conducted under the <a href=\"https:\/\/marshal.lochac.sca.org\/\">rules and customs<\/a> of The Kingdom of Lochac with these additional requirements and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:16px\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each combatant shall bring at least two items of personal heraldic display. (as example: a painted shield; a banner; a torse and mantling; a tabard, surcoat or similar; a helm crest).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Combatants must register their intent to contest the prize before the end of the <strong>eighth day of May 2026<\/strong>, and declare what heraldry (device) they will display upon the field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To be eligible to carry away a prize a combatant must compete in both tournaments.<br>(Combatants are requested to bring their own gauntlets)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first tournament shall be fought as a single kill, best of three; the combatants shall have their own choice of weapons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second tournament shall be fought as a single kill, best of three; <strong>Pas d&#8217;Armes<\/strong> in which a different weapon or fighting style will be chosen per round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entry requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Combatants are minded that they must book before the end of the day on May 8th 2026, and declare what heraldry (device) they will display upon the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When booking, please include the following information so that the appropriate arrangements can be made to cause a tournament of great renown to be held upon the fields of Radburne:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your (SCA) name and pronounciation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where you are from;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heraldry (device);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your favoured weapon;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your favourite victory (e.g Slayer of dragons)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your favourite thing about your persona (e.g. the best brewmaster in the land)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upon the Awarding of Prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards will be at the conclusion of the Tourney<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A prize shall be awarded to the combatant who most exemplifies the values of <strong>courtesy<\/strong> and <strong>chivalry<\/strong> and by doing so brings the most honour and renown to themselves and or\/their consort. A prize shall be awarded for the most number of <strong>victories<\/strong> across the tournament.
